Waking with a groan, Hisakawa nearly fell out of the chair she’d been slumped precariously in. Upon closer inspection, she’d apparently been passed out in a large office chair, but that didn’t seem right, did it? She didn’t even remember falling asleep, nor being stuck in what appeared to be a large conference room. At first, she was ready to attribute it all to her sour luck, but as she straightened in the chair, she realised that there were several other people around her age slumped in the same kind of chairs, and she scrambled to her feet, stunned momentarily. Weak light filtered in through the windows, but the sky was overcast, so details were sort of hard to make out. Something white sat on the middle of the table, but she ignored it for now, stumbling over to the nearest chair to get a closer look, but as she put her hand on the back of it, ready to shake it, it seemed as if the others were stirring – as she could hear the sounds of shifting and the squeaky sound of a chair turning. Feeling that they would wake up on their own, she took a step back towards her chair, squinting at the wall in the hopes that she would be able to spot a light switch.
After a few moments, however, as she watched these other strange teenagers get to their feet, there was a light click and bright, fluorescent lights lit up the rest of the room, and she caught a glimpse of a small girl sliding away from the switch she could now see on that wall. That was one problem fixed, but the other remained. She didn’t know any of these other kids, and she had absolutely no clue why she had woken up in this strange conference room with them. A glance towards one of the windows still wasn’t too helpful, the most detail she could see was what appeared to be a water tower, and beyond that, what looked to be housing, but something was off, and she couldn’t quite place it. Rather than lingering on that, Hisakawa looked back towards the rest of the people gather around the table, and cleared her throat in a weak attempt to get attention.

Not seeing much of a reason to put herself to sleep with the others, Tachibana had remained slumped in her own chair, in the darkest corner of the room, waiting for some hint of movement from one of the other chairs. A creak and some sudden movement told her someone was indeed waking up, and she didn’t move at first, but as she watched Hisakawa cross to the chair closest to her, she could hear the others around her stirring and figured that was her cue. Act confused until everything set in and things should go swimmingly. She slid out of her chair, standing up. Now that everyone was starting to come to their senses, she could hear confusion being expressed about their situation – grumbles from someone who had nearly slipped out of their chair. In the darkness of the room, she could really only see silhouettes, so it was difficult to tell who was who. Already aware, however, of her surroundings, Tachibana slid around her chair and behind one of the others, reaching her arm over and slapping at the wall until she finally hit the switch, and for a moment, the room went silent, before the commotion picked up again. It was clear that no one was fond of waking up in a random conference room with no memory of how they got there.
